Hi every one,
I just finish the first version of an auto rig for Autodesk Maya. This tool has been created, as an experiment for improve my scripting capabilities inside of Maya. I used Python and QT for the development.
It is the first version of this tool that I will continue developing and improving it in later versions.
DC_AR is an auto biped rigging script, that helps to create in few steps, a complete biped rig.
Features:
- Ik / Fk limbs
- Symmetry rotations
- Spine Ik/Fk, stretch and squash
- Fingers Ik&Fk
- Neck follow the chest option
- Head follow the neck option
- GL controls ( always displayed on top)
Next features:
- Add bank roll for the feet
- Match Ik / Fk
- Ik Stretch and squash limbs
- Give support for multiple characters
Workflow:
Step 1
1. Insert a name for the character.
2. Click on Create Character
Step 2
1. Click on Create Proxy Skeleton
Step 3
1. Click on Edit Proxy Skeleton
2. Place the locators on the desire place
3. Mirror the left side to the right side or vice versa ( R–>L and R<–L buttons)
4. Select the number of joints for the spine (spin box)
5. Click on Finish Proxy Skeleton

1. Select the desire properties for the rig from the different tabs.
- Step 5
1. Click on BUILD CHARACTER
